Laystone are a Berkshire based stone masonry company, dedicated to the conservation and restoration of old buildings. The services we offer can be narrowed down to the following: (but not limited to)

* Stone installation i.e. Fire places, copings, jambs, window cills, ashlar, indenting etc.

 

* Walling i.e. Rubble walls (Cotswold, flint, clunch etc), brick buttresses, flaunching, stitching etc.

 

*Pointing i.e. Rubble wall pointing, brick pointing, ashlar pointing

Our focus is particularly on the preservation of heritage buildings, through carefully applied methods such as using traditional materials, and staying sympathetic to the material of the local area (or at least adhering as tightly as possible).

More often than not, we see old buildings fall into a state of disrepair through wilful neglect, and in many cases, that which could've been saved through simple, uncostly* solutions i.e repointing, buttressing, flaunching.
